2011 NATIONAL NIGHT OUT

NYCHA - Aug. 2, 2011 - National Night Out Against Crime 2002.

Lafayette Gardens and hundreds of other communities around the country took the streets back on Tuesday night August 2nd as part of the National Night Out Against Crime. It was a beautiful evening full of fun, food and families sharing in a SAFE environment.

It was a fantastic coordinated effort between PSA 3, Brooklyn Community Operations, local businesses and the Resident and Youth Associations of Lafayette Gardens. Many local politicians, NYCHA and community leaders came out and joined the festivities: Walter Mosley III, Olanike Alabi, members of Latitia James office, Rejice John, Raymond LaSalle, Angela Gadson, Gerard Middleton, Renee Collymore, Leora keith, Captain Bucell, Inspector McGuinn, Chief Jaffee and the host committee of Detective Michael Watts, Officer Sadano, Officer Myers, Sharon Thomas, Deborah Henry, denise Guess, Gina Watkins, Marlon Forbes, Jenelle Mitchell, Sidney Butler, Timothy Whaley, Jean Canela, Sean Chavez and a host of others Tina, Minnie, Yvette and the entire staff of Lafayette Gardens.

I especially want to personally thank all of the residents young, mature and in between who came out and supported the event. it was amazing to see everyone having a great time in a safe, inviting and family environment. thanks to my special pal "Leticia Barboza" who did an amazing job of photographing the entire event for us
