THE EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE

LOW VOTER TURNOUT "SPOILS"
DEBUT OF NEW VOTING MACHINES

Election Day turnout was notably low and not very exciting. Even all the hoopla surrounding the debut of the new voting machines was not to bring out the faithful.

Typically and as expected all of the incumbents on the ballot for our district were swept back into office. Most notably, Congressman Ed Towns and the Brooklyn Democratic Club sponsored a pre-election luncheon for the areas senior centers and clubs. Aside from the speeches and campaigning, the brunch was delightful and not even the rain spoiled the day.

The new voting machines were simple, straight forward and easy to use. The monitors and poll workers should have been more attentive explaining the process and directing you to the actual machines but somethings never change.
