It was all about the "Number One's" this past weekend at Radio City Music Hall for Janet Jackson Fans. A number of residents attended and definitely enjoyed the concert.
This was arguably the best concert ever for Miss Jackson who dropped all the bells and whistles for a more intimate "up close and personal" cabaret style show. The strategy was very successful as it really showcased and confirmed her vocal abilities. Amazing for an artist known for more bells and whistles than sheer talent in past shows.
The change of venue allowed a physically closer environment, better acoustics and an overall more personal 90 minute concert. The crowd ate every bit of it. Her wardrobe was fabulous. In fact the only real downside or sour note of the evening was the opening act, a group of young, no, make that really young hip hoppers who would have better fit the huge arena Raves than a mature and well seasoned glamorous cabaret.
Kudos and a job well done for Miss Jackson as she transitions into middle age and the next phase of a successful career!
