- CAMPAIGN UPDATE
Yesterday, to commemorate Labor Day, I attended the 43rd Annual West Indian American Labor Day Parade. Several Unions have supported me in my re-election campaign both officially and unofficially that I'm extremely grateful. As an employee of a labor union and proud beneficiary of our nation's labor movement, I was proud to march for a quarter of the parade with the Transport Workers Union (TWU) - Local 100. Additionally, for a second year in a row, I celebrated the remainder of the parade on a float with members of the United Federation of Teachers (UFT). Special thanks to TWU President John Samuelson and UFT President Michael Mulgrew who allowed me to do so.

Lastly, with just one week to go before Primary Day, I cannot tell you how excited I am about the upcoming election. The support has been tremendous and I have learned so much from this experience. Turnout is expected to be low so please encourage your friends and family to come out and VOTE! Over the past month, our campaign has been operating in high gear mode. This week, you will hear from several of our elected officials who are supporting me along with other candidates. Also, if you wish to volunteer for our campaign on Primary Day, call 718.398.0750.
