Monday was the first official day of Spring Break for New York City Public Schools. The Youth Association and friends kicked the week off with an adventure to the circus. "Funundrum" the current install ment of the Barnum and Bailey Circus, now playing at the infamous Madison Square Garden in Manhattan is a very different twist on the traditional circus of long ago. Funundrum also marks the first time Barnum & Bailey has featured a minority Ring Master! Welcome to the real world. Gone are the many circus animals reduced to a elephants, tigers and ponies and a dog the show was very fast moving, compact and interesting! The young people loved it and the teens enjoyed parts of it. If you decide to check it out, take your own snacks. The concessions were eceptionally expensive, even for Manhattan. Soda or Juice 5.00, Popcorn 7.00, hot dog 7.00 and a hamburger 10.00. A Circus Sword 12.00 and a twirling light 15.00.
Our group of 50 included members of the Girl Scouts, Boys Scouts, Handsome Money Makers, LG After School and our P.S. 270 PTA. Some of us traveled togetehr and others met at The Garden. A nice time was had by all!
