GRANDMOTHER POWER TAKES CHARGE IN BROOKLYN

There is a new and powerful storm brewing in Brooklyn and it is powered by grandmothers. A new and exciting support group designed solely for grandmothers raising their grandchildren recently held it's first meeting with a very impressive turnout.

Sponsored by local social service agencies and the NYPD Women Executives League, the meeting was chaired by all top ranking women officials of the New York Police Department. The group allows grandmothers to support each other and get information and encouragement on rearing todays children in a world of fancy technology and an ever changing culture. Speakers and presenters came from all facets of society including clergy, social service and education.

The LG delegation included a number of grandmothers who reported having a very fruitful, educational and rewarding experience at the breakfast. Any grandmothers interested in joining the group, free of charge, can speak with Deborah Henry in the Resident Association Office to attend the next meeting.
