LEARNING SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY

THE BREAST CANCER WALK

Sunday past, the 16th, many people rose early to participate in the Annual Walk for A cure to Breast Cancer in Prospect Park. It was a beautiful Fall Day with a slight breeze for the event and thousands of people turned out.

Lafayette Gardens led by Denise Guess - our community center director, was in the thick of it joined by residents and staff from Tompkins Houses and Roosevelt. There were many groups and people walking to commemorate or celebrate the life of some touched by Breast Cancer.

The 3.5 mile walk passed quickly and then it was time to do the slide, dance and party the afternoon away. Congratulations to the thousands of young people who turned out to really make the walk their own and share in social responsibility.
