YOUTH ASSOCIATION SET TO FINALLY CAST RODS
Thanks to some very generous donors and sponsors the Lafayette Gardens anglers are set to begin the 2011 fishing season. Classes are set to begin next week with the first actual fishing trip scheduled for the middle of May.
Special appreciation goes out to Brooklyn's first lady "Jamie Markowitz", wife of Brooklyn Borough President Marty Markowitz for spear heading our donation drive for fishing equipment. Many local and regional donors from as far away as South Carolina donated rods, bait and tackle to help our young people and seniors alike to get ready for plenty of summer fun by the water. Pure fishing of South Carolina donated some very special rods and reels for the very young fishing enthusiasts.
Special kudos to News 12 Brooklyn and the New York Daily news for all the coverage and media support. Also donations from the FDNY EMT corps and Drivers from the Brooklyn Depot of the MTA!
Anyone interested in joining us for some good times fishing and teaching our seniors and teens, reach out to us at lgresassoc@gmail.com or call TY at 347 587 6443!
