BIG TIME AT THE APOLLO

Saturday afternoon was one to remember as members of the Resident and Youth Associations ventured uptown to the village of Harlem and the World Famous Apollo for the "41st Annual NYCHA Talent Competition".

The show was fantastic and entertaining for all. Hundreds of people filled the Apollo on all floors to see some of the finest talent in Public Housing and in NYC. Our home district of Brooklyn West was well represented thanks to a generous donation of buses by Brooklyn West District Chairman Raymond Ballard. Lafayette Gardens had the largest delegation and used 72 tickets alone. Notably other presidents on hand included Leora Keith, Michael Steele, Charlene Nimmons, Diane Jackson, John Johnson, Yvonne Lee, Ethel Velez, Cynthia Moore and many others.

Brooklyn was well represented in the show as well! Thanks to all the Residents and NYCHA for producing such a great show!

Welcome home, "Lafayette Gardens", a federally funded New York City Housing Authority Development composed of seven residential buildings, a Community Center and City Health Clinic with more than 2500 residents of all nationalities, ages, races, sexual orientations and income ranges.

The surrounding communities of Clinton Hills & Bed-Sty are minutes away from many of the finest Arts & Education institutions in the country.
