Pet Policy
A resident MUST submit to NYCHA a registration form (also available at the management office) for every dog, cat or Service Animal within 30 days after it is obtained. The dog weight limit of 25 pounds and specific breed restrictions apply to any dog registered on or after May 1, 2009. Please access the Pet Policy Overview below for more detailed information.

Dog Tags for Registered Pets
NYCHA is committed to ensuring the safety of all of our residents and as a recommendation of NYCHA's Safety and Security Task Force, NYCHA will be issuing stainless steel dog tags to all residents who currently have a registered dog and for any new registrants. All dogs on NYCHA property must have the NYCHA dog tag on them at all times for safety and identification. There will be no additional charge for the dog tag. Effective July 1, 2010 current registered pet owners must visit their Management Office to receive a dog tag.
