LAFAYETTE GARDENS YOUTH MARKET

Earlier this Spring we announced the grand opening of the Lafayette Gardens Youth Market, a summer youth employment initiative. Teens are granted vendor licences for the summer to operate Fresh Produce stands in the their community.

The youth selected from LG have been very successful and well received by the community. The youth are paid a nice hourly wage provided by a grant from the NYC Waste Management Department and administered by GrowNYC.

Welcome home, "Lafayette Gardens", a federally funded New York City Housing Authority Development composed of seven residential buildings, a Community Center and City Health Clinic with more than 2500 residents of all nationalities, ages, races, sexual orientations and income ranges.
